My style

Whether you are experiencing a life transition, trouble with a decision-making process, or finding that your relationship(s) is feeling more difficult lately, I want to remind you that you are not alone.

I believe you bring value and strengths to the relationships in your life. Sometimes we are better equipped to identify and utilize these strengths than other times. Whether you are experiencing a life transition, having trouble with a decision-making process (big or small), or finding that your relationship(s) is feeling more difficult lately, I want to remind you that you are not alone. From our first phone call to our last session, I aim to provide support, warmth, and authenticity through the entire therapy process.

Life doesn’t stop for therapy- you may experience ups and downs throughout our time together. This won’t stop us from talking about the hard things, but I’ll meet you where you are in session. This can include laughing a bit more, providing space to cry without rushing you out of those feelings, letting you exist in a calm environment while I hold space for overwhelming emotions, or taking a brief “pause” on the plan for session to debrief about what you’re experiencing.

We often grow and change so much more than we realize. We meet new people, visit new places, and have new experiences and conversations that can’t help but have some affect on who we are.

We also often forget to take these changes- even slight ones- into account in our relationships with others (and ourselves!). We can forget that our loved ones don’t live inside our head and we don’t live inside theirs. I am here to help support you through these changes and to find the confidence to trust yourself and what you bring to your relationships.

In therapy, we’ll discuss your goals for self and relationship growth. We’ll focus on exploring patterns and cycles that may not be serving you or your relationship anymore to find ways to break those cycles. I often give “homework” to engage in between sessions. Whether it is a new way of communicating to try, an article/book chapter to read, or an activity to do by yourself or with your partner, this “homework” is often like a science experiment to help narrow down the most effective ways to break patterns that are not getting us the results we would like. This also helps you continue to focus on growth and change outside of our therapy sessions.

 FAQs

  • I offer a range of prices that include a limited number of sliding scale availability. Self-pay (non-insurance) fees vary from $120-$140. Please feel free to call to get more information on pricing for your unique needs.

  • Yes! I currently accept all Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

  • Typically, most couples and individuals experience the best results when they attend therapy weekly or biweekly starting out. This will help you work more consistently toward your goals and create new patterns that better work for you and your relationships

Once feeling more confident in their ability to continue engaging in change outside of session, many people like to “taper off” therapy and find this is a great way to practice on their own while still receiving some support. For example, couples who come to therapy weekly may move towards bi-weekly sessions, then monthly sessions, etc. until they feel confident on their own.

  • Standard therapy sessions for both couples and individuals are 50 minutes. This is considered a clinical hour. However, some people (especially couples) enjoy longer sessions and find these beneficial to their continued growth. If you are interested in longer sessions, we can explore how 75 minute or 110 minute sessions might better fit your goals.
